An Interview with 3-Year-Old Adrienne

Eight Months Old

March 2019

Cecilia June is 8 months old!

This little girl loves to jump around in her exersaucer. Her legs are getting really strong and we keep waiting for her to take off crawling. She definitely has the legs figured out and now needs to figure out how to move her arms forward to crawl.

She loves to dance with her robot.

She is doing a lot of babbling and starting to say "Dada".

She is obsessed with her feet and loves to try to fit them into her mouth.

She is a sneaky pooper. She has blowouts at least a few times a week and they come out of nowhere.

She loves bathtime.

Cecilia has tried most kinds of food now. Bananas are definitely a favorite. She also likes to play with the food and rub it on her face. Still no teeth though!

Seven Months Old

February 21, 2019

Cecilia June is seven months old already!

She is still a little wobbly but can now sit up unassisted. She likes to play with her toes and grab anything within her reach (including Mommy's hair).

Cecilia has been making lots of babbling sounds. They aren't quite words yet but I love catching her on video saying "Mama" and "Dada".

Food has been the biggest change this month. Cecilia doesn't seem too thrilled with it yet. Her first food was mashed avocados. She has had a lot of other purees and seems to like bananas the best.

I can't get enough sweet and adorable videos and pictures of Cecilia and Adrienne together. 

Adrienne loves to snuggle Cecilia on the couch. Cecilia is not quite sure about it yet.

Adrienne knows how to make Cecilia laugh.

Getting them both to look at the camera at the same time is quite a challenge!

Still loves to suck on her two fingers.

She gets in "screaming moods" where she just likes to see how loud of a noise she can make. They are always happy screams though!

She has been doing a lot of scooting around on her belly. No crawling yet.

Three Years Old

February 19th, 2019

Adrienne is three years old! Some things I always want to remember about my 3-year-old little girl...

• Although she is great at communicating, she still has little phrases that she says a little bit mixed-up and we think it is adorable. We will be sad when she stops! One example is when Daddy says a song lyric wrong she says "That's how it not goes".
• She loves all things Wonder Woman. She had a Wonder Woman birthday party and she had so much fun! She watches Wonder Woman (the 70s Linda Carter version) every Saturday night before bed. On Saturday mornings I usually tell her it's Wonder Woman Day and she screams with excitement. She often pretends to be Wonder Woman and makes us be the "Bad Guys". She chases us and catches us in her lasso of truth and says "Tell me the truth. Do you love your family?" Then when we say yes she says "Ok you're all done" and she lets us go.
• The superhero obsession goes beyond Wonder Woman. She loves the Incredibles and likes to pretend to be Elasti-Girl.
• Current favorite toys are her Wonder Woman doll and her Calico Critters. She also is starting to like Barbies. She plays pretend with all of these toys and I love listening to her make them talk.
• She has developed a bit of fear at night. She says she is afraid of "Itsy Bitsy" and "Twinkle Stars". We think she saw a picture in a book or on the Baby Bum TV show of the characters that scared her. One night she asked me "Mommy, were you scared when you were a little girl?" She is working on it and often says "I'm not scared of Itsy Bitsy and Twinkle Stars anymore!", but then she is scared again the next day.
• She is all about being a baby dinosaur right now. I'd say about 30% of her awake time she is a baby dinosaur. She always wants me to teach the baby dinosaur to say new words and to feed the baby dinosaur.
• Adrienne is an incredibly loving sister. She hugs and snuggles her sister all of the time. She is sometimes a little rough with her but she does it out of love.
• Current favorite books are "Dragons Love Tacos" and "The Incredibles".
• Adrienne is obsessed with "special treats". Cake, brownies, cookies, you name it....she has a huge sweet tooth.  Her other favorite foods are fruit (especially berries), macaroni and cheese, yogurt raisins and cereal.
• Adrienne has lots of names that she calls Cecilia. She calls her Celia, Sister, Sister Junie, Sweet Baby Cecilia, Sister Cecilia Junie. She is so in love with her. She has been making Cecilia laugh and Adrienne thinks it is the greatest thing ever.

Adrienne loves to dance so part of her birthday party was a dance party in the basement! We have had several more dance parties with just our family since the birthday party too :).

Josh and his siblings used to pretend they were the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles when they were younger.

The week before her birthday party we also celebrated with Grammy with a mini birthday party. She loved her cake and her superhero presents.

Some of my favorite pictures from throughout the year. I will miss 2-Year-Old Adrienne, but 3-Year-Old Adrienne is pretty amazing so far!
