Two Years Old

February 2018

Wow. We have a two year old! I can't believe it. It seems like just yesterday that she was learning how to walk and now you can barely keep her in one spot for 30 seconds! Adrienne is growing into such a smart and loving little girl.

Some things I always want to remember about my 2 year old baby...

  • She loves to give hugs and kisses. She says "I love you" unprompted several times a day and makes our hearts melt.
  • She loves all things Moana. I would be embarrassed if Netflix told me how many times we really have watched the movie.
  • One of her favorite toys to play with is her playhouse. She always wants me to put the farmer at the door so she can ring the doorbell. When the farmer opens the door, she says "Hi I'm Adrienne" and then asks for him to cook her some pretend food (usually blueberry pancakes).
  • Speaking of blueberries, Adrienne pronounces them "boobies". She also says strawberry as "strawboobies". We are afraid to correct her because it is so cute and hilarious. I know one day she will say them correctly and I will know she isn't a baby (and I will go in the corner and cry).
  • Adrienne is obsessed with dancing. She dances all the time in the kitchen and quite often will demand a dancing partner ("Mommy, dance please!)
  • She likes to make tents out of blankets. She puts the blanket over her head and asks for Mommy or Daddy to come in the tent too.
  • Adrienne has definitely entered the "By Myself" phase. She likes to walk by herself and not in her stroller.
  • She loves "Little Critter" books, especially "Go To Bed" and "Just a Mess".
  • When choosing between two things, Adrienne always chooses the second. You can make her seem really smart by asking her hard questions and making sure the second choice is the correct answer :)
We had a great Moana themed birthday party! We were thankful to be able to celebrate at Norma and Tim's because there is no way we could have fit that many people in our house!

Those are all the pictures from her birthday. She just gets cuter by the day though, so here's a few more.

Adrienne plays with her kitchen basically nonstop.

A hardhat and tools from Tio Brian and Tia Patty!

She likes to do "Teddy Bear, Teddy Bear"

We had lots of fun sledding this winter. And Daddy got quite a workout! Captured a near miss between Bruce and the sled!

Wearing three hats...why not?

Adrienne did great at her 2 year old checkup appointment.

More waiting for the doctor. Adrienne weighs just over 25 pounds right now.

We're Having a Baby!

February 2018

We are so excited to announce that Baby Girl Leask will be arriving in late July 2018! I am so excited for Adrienne to have a sister and Josh and I can't wait to have another sweet tiny baby in our arms! What a fun and exciting year this will be!

Christmas 2017

January 2018

This was Adrienne's second Christmas, but it really felt like her first. It was the first year that she kind of understood what Santa was (only a little bit) and she got excited to open presents. We also spent A LOT of time singing Christmas songs. Her favorites were "We Wish You a Merry Christmas" and "Santa Claus is Coming to Town". Lots of pictures and videos from the holiday season!

An early Christmas present from Grammy and Grandpa. Her very own Dyson! She likes to use it while Mommy or Daddy use theirs.

Even though it is getting really cold, we still try to get outside as much as possible. Here we are at the playground by our house.

That smile :)

Sledding with Daddy

More catching snowflakes. We had a perfect white Christmas!

Maggie hooked her GoPro up to the front of Adrienne's sled!

Christmas morning (really the day before Christmas, but we celebrated early). Getting harder and harder to get everyone to sit still for a picture:)

Bruce got to open the first present.

Adrienne took over for Maggie for a little bit and delivered presents to people.

Christmas morning breakfast. Grandma's blueberry sauce! A favorite for sure!

This will forever be the "Snoopy Song" Christmas. Adrienne asked to hear that song at least 5 times a day and loves to dance to it.

We had a chance to also celebrate Christmas with Papa Marc and Nan!

Adrienne loves Finny

On our way home it only took 5 minutes for Adrienne to fall asleep (notice she is even still holding her new book open). So sweet.  We can't wait for next Christmas!

Thanksgiving 2017

December 2017

We were lucky this year to be able to have Thanksgiving with both sides of our family. First, we celebrated in Brighton at Norma and Tim's house. I didn't get very many pictures, but it was so great that Grammy and Grandpa were there too!

Next up was Thanksgiving in Cadillac where we got some cousin time with Henry. We also enjoyed the annual tradition of getting the Staub Family Christmas tree together. Adrienne especially loved the cookies at the farm:)

Good helpers!

Adrienne wasn't a big vegetable eater at dinner, but she could not say no to pie!

Halloween and Fall 2017

October 2017

Adrienne LOVED her first trick-or-treating experience. At first she was a little hesitant to begin.

Once she figured out that people gave her things for her bucket, she just wanted more and more. We hit about 15 houses and headed home. Adrienne was a little upset and definitely wanted to keep going, but it was getting too cold. She was happy again though when we got home and she got to dig through her loot :)

Bruce got to dress up too! His costume took all of 2 minutes before heading out and he got tons of compliments. I think this may be his go-to costume every year now:)

We have had a great fall this year filled with lots of time outside! The only bad part was that Josh totaled the car by hitting a deer on the expressway. Just thankful he is okay. The impact made the hood of the car flip up and he couldn't see anything as he was braking! Lots of fall pics and video below!

R.I.P. Cobalt

Our walks definitely require a bit more gear now.

Adrienne learned some Beatles songs from the show "Beat Bugs".

Love that cheesy smile

Surprised face

Adrienne did great waiting for hours while we bought Josh a new car.

She loves this game!

Adrienne had a blast dancing at cousin Miranda's Quinceanera.

We are officially needing a ponytail most days to keep that hair out of her face.
